As a marine biologist deeply interested in natural ecosystems, I was drawn to the stunning landscape that surrounds Gasthaus Spinas. Our family of four enjoyed the location, accessible only by train, horse carriage, or foot. The breathtaking valley views and extensive playground kept our little ones entertained, making one feel the remoteness of nature. The restaurant stands out - the menu features locally-sourced options that are notably fresh and beautifully presented, although it can get busy. Service was mostly attentive, though one waiter seemed overwhelmed. Breakfast was hearty and the varied choices were appreciated, despite the unfortunate egg mishap. Our overnight experience was less favorable. Room offered no privacy, functioning more like an echo chamber next to the office. The shared bathrooms were a logistical challenge, especially with little ones in tow. Given the cost at 170 CHF per night, the arrangement felt mismatched with the price tag. Explore the trails, but maybe steer clear of that specific room. An experience rich in nature but lacking in luxury.
